Uprights have offset/staggered holes on all sides (and with some wider 150mm spacing on the non-racking face), horizontal legs have only the horizontal holes and the rear cross brace does not have any holes (but Mirafit and others make compatible brace bars with holes that could be swapped in if required).
All thru-holes are laser cut and neat, with no ragged edges. The finish is a durable matte charcoal powder coat and the coating is well applied. Mine did not not have the logo as shown in the pictures – no big deal. All parts in my kit were straight and true so it went together easily with no necessary straightening or adjustment.
My steel uprights measured 2. 65mm thick wall with a vernier, technically 12-gauge steel, not 11-gauge as listed, but it's still incredibly sturdy and likely overkill for most home gyms.
60mm x 60mm with 17mm holes is fairly standard (the other being inch diameter holes as seen on the Extreme Fitness Home Squat Rack). The SR-200 rack with 17mm holes is compatible with Mirafit M3 accessories including sandwiched J-cups, pull-up bars, jammer arms and weight storage peg options. Various other manufacturers make attachments to fit also.
The inside distance between my uprights measures 110cm so this gap perfectly fits a Mirafit M3 pull-up bar. I’ve ordered a fat grip bar which will also serve to brace the uprights for even less flex.
The J-cups are UHMW-lined on the vertical and base, though not on the leading inside edge. This is no big deal, Rogue and others are the same and unless you are careless racking this isn’t an issue.
The spotter arms are straight and tight to the frame with minimal vertical rocking, and with UHMW lining on the top face. Lower locking pins are good quality chromed with plastic dipped handles and retained by R clip.
All UHMW fasteners on cups and spotters are nicely underflush to protect the bar.
It would have been nice if the J cups and spotter arms were also UHMW lined on the box bracket (as Mirafit and others do) to protect the uprights - but for the price I really can’t complain. Yes the uprights are going to mark over time but its a home gym and it will get a patina anyway.
Kit is supplied with all washers and bolts. Nuts are nylock, I assembled these with threadlock for added security.
In summary this is an excellent squat stand for the price, built well and is compatible with a range of third-party accessories. Minor details could be tweaked to make this a truly premium product but for the money it is a bargain and I’m very happy with it.
As a suggestion, Extreme Fitness might look to offer an upgrade option to convert to a low height half rack with weight pegs, which would be awesome. Very few suppliers offer *lower height* half racks which many of us require in home gyms, particularly with sometimes limited ceiling height in garages etc. This upgrade could also optionally allow a shortened cable lat to be added.
