h. The back padding is thick and I don't slip about while chest pressing. It is a very good width, not too narrow for chest press &fly'sbut not so wide that it would interfere with chest supported exercises. . The ability to change quickly between back and seat angles is great and the guid rail stop you from lifting the bench post too far away from the post rests. The post locks in to positions well. The weight of the bench is similar to the ones at my gym so it is easy to move around. My old bench used to tip and make me faceplant the floor when doing chest supported rows, flies and lat raises. This bench is built for them and feels very stable and secure the whole time. No creaking noises either! It stands upright for storage without the need to lean against a wall and I tried to give it a knock and a wobble to see how sturdy it is in that mode. It is solid and didn't really budge. The wheels are very good, smooth and just the right size to push the bench around without having to hold it too low or too high. I recommend this bench.
